Tomorrow is the big day, and up until this blog I have not written about the election. However, after church yesterday I feel it is my responsibility to write only a few thoughts. During the closing prayer, our pastor said it so eloquently that it is our responsibility to vote, and that we must prey for whom ever is elected and remember that the individual elected is a human like you and I. He reminded us that their is only one King of Kings / Lord of Lords and that is Jesus Christ. Jesus already knows whom the next President of the United States of America will be and we to will know in less than 24 hours. So until then, PLEASE PLEASE GO VOTE tomorrow if you haven't aready.
If you still don't know who you are going to vote for I challenge you to not listen to the commercials and the negativism but to look specically at the issues. Last weeks TIME magazine did a great job on laying out the issues and how each candidate stands.
If this hasn't crossed your mind, here is some food for thought and regardless of the outcome History is going to be made:
1. If Obama is elected - He will be THE first ever African-American elected.
2. If McCain / Palin is elected - He will be THE oldest man every eleceted, and She will be the firt ever woman elected.
As a woman married to a Black man in America and the mother of Bi-racial children I can tell you the entire campaign has been an emotional experience for our family. I am so very proud to be an American, I just prey that THE BEST candidate is elected tomorrow.
GOD BLESS YOU AND GOD BLESS AMERICA!

I think you and I share some of the same thoughts about this election. I am very excited and scared at the same time. I know when I had my first child (bi-racial) my family was very concerned about what would become of her in life, since she "wouldn't belong" to any one group. Whatever the outcome of this election, Obama and this campaign is proof that not matter what you backgroud you can become whatever you set you mind to!
Lots of love and blessings to you and your family!
