Anna was off school today for Veterans Day and Nana (Eric's mom) had today off. So... Anna spent the night with her last night. However this entry is not about Anna and the great time she had Nana's house but it's about the little brother that was left at home in saddness.
As Anna was packing her things last night, Jude Man went and got 4 shirts and his coat and announced he was ready to go. I had to inform him that he would not be going on this trip. He immediately started sobbing, not little cries but howling and big ole' tears falling from those big brown puppy dog eyes. As Eric and Anna left out the front door the howling continued! I sat and rocked him, and tried comforting him he wasn't having it. ALL he kept saying was I want to go to Nana's with Anna. I explained to him that he would get his turn in a few weeks. (3 year olds' have no concept of time.) So, I got the Halloween candy bowl off the fridge and let him have 3 pieces (shame on me, I'm a bad Mom, but you've all done it) We then went into the bed room and I let him lie with me until Eric got home. Well, when Eric walked in Jude wanted to know where Anna was and the drama began again. Finally, sleep came and at 6:30 am I awoke to find Jude standing at my bedside asking me where Anna was? Guess what, that's right at 6:31 am Jude starts crying again, wanting his sister and wanting to go to Nana's house. So, I offered a McDonald's BIG breakfast, and it worked! We got to the Y, had our day then when I picked him up at 5 pm the first thing out of his mouth was do I get to go to Nana's now. Man, you gotta love his Kid's persistance! So, indeed Jude got to go to Nana's for dinner, but as we were walking into her house Jude said, "I got it Mama, I'll see you tomorrow." Uggg, once again I had to break the news to Jude that we were only having dinner then heading home.
Love the little man, and prey that the excitment of going to Nana's will wear off? But I really doubt it!
