This morning Eric and I worked in the backyard, moving hasta's, raking a ma-zillion acorns, and laying new mulch. We completely ignorded Anna & Jude, well not completely we put them in front of the TV for a "few" hours. Until, Anna came outside around 11 am and said mama I'm hungry, can I make breakfast. I said sure, so Anna went into the kitchen and poured Eric a bowl of Rice Krispies w/ milk and brought it outside to him. Then she went back in the kitchen, got the toaster out and put the bread in the "plugged in" toaster (I don't usually allow my children to plug things into electrical outlets, but some how the 6 yr. old is smart enough to figure it out.) All the while Eric and I are still working outside, Eric announces something smells burnt, I drop everything and go running into the house, and sure enough our sweet little chef Anna had burnt the toast! So, we tossed the two burnt pieces and I helped her with a couple fresh slices of bread. She was trying so hard to make Eric and I breakfast since she saw how hard we were working outside. SO CUTE and thoughtful!
Then Jude came outside to announce that he and Eric needed to go to the gas station (since they do every Sunday)to pick up a newspaper! When he was waiting for Eric sure enough an acorn fell and hit him on the forehead! He started to cry, and I told him he was like chicken little and needed to be brave but that the sky was not falling. He just laughed through the tears!
On a side note...
-I've been taking an on-line class so I've been kinda out of blog-land, SORRY.
-Augie won their home opener football game last night!
-Anna woke up yesterday and announced she really didn't want to play soccer anymore (huh this is only the second game of the season) let's just say she went and played 2 quarters!
-Jude had his first soccer game yesterday and everytime he would kick the ball he ran over to me to make sure I saw him and collected a high five!
-Friday night Eric and I hit the "cheap movies - NOVA 6" to see Hancock with Will Smith, I recommend it as a rental!
-Today while grocery shopping at Wal-MArt (GAG!) I bought Christmas presents, it was actually a good thing, a bunch of toys were marked down!
-The BEARS are winning!
Here's to a GREAT WEEK!
