As the weekend quickly approaches I'm very excited for the long weekend! Our friends The Jones, and The Samulson's are heading out to Chicago for the weekend. We're all caravaning out Saturday morning then hitting the Field Museum before checking into the hotel. Eric found on HotWire the Hilton at O'Hare for $65.00/night (great deal) After checking into the hotel we're heading to Navy Pier for dinner, Children's Musuem, Entertainment, and alittle shopping! Sunday it will be a late breakfast and time for a dip in the pool, then off to the Lincoln Park Zoo.
Even though Eric's entire family lives in Chicago we try to go out once a summer and stay in a hotel to do some of the "touristy" things. The kids really love it and think its a BIG deal to stay in a hotel. AND... I am so excited to be going with our friends. Both couples have kids the same age as we so they should have a great time!
I'm sure I'll have pictures to post when we return. We're heading home Sunday since Eric has made it a tradition to Volunteer for the Rock Island Labor Day parade and I think the kids and I will walk with Anna's school in the parade this year. Should be a great weekend, I hope anyone reading this enjoys family and friends and an extra day off!

Sounds like a great mini vacation! I am just like you when we go to visit in a town with family I love to stay in a hotel and do tourist things! So much better than setting around someone house all day! Hope you guys had fun!
